Dextr AI Secures $6.7M Seed to Deploy Hotel AI Agents Across Hundreds of Properties

The San Francisco startup raised seed funding to scale voice and messaging agents that automate bookings, guest services and staff coordination for hotels.

Dextr AI announced a $6.7 million seed round that will fund the rollout of artificial-intelligence agents designed to handle reservations, guest requests and staff coordination for hotels. The round, led by Elevation Capital with participation from Foundation Capital, marks the company’s first institutional financing and comes as the hospitality sector wrestles with rising labor costs and persistent staffing gaps.

Founder Sajid Shariff returned to the Bay Area in early 2024 after a pandemic-era hiatus from hospitality. Drawing on relationships he had built while working in hotels, he built a prototype AI assistant called Alfred for two properties. Alfred answered guest questions and facilitated check-ins and check-outs, and Shariff says online reviews improved within 90 days. The early success prompted him to expand the concept beyond messaging, eventually teaming with Scott Arnold to launch Dextr AI in July 2025.

Dextr’s product suite now includes a voice-based reservations agent named Daisy, the original Alfred guest-messaging agent, and a companion interface called Doss that lets staff interact with agents by text, voice or call. The company positions these tools as interchangeable building blocks that can share data across hotel functions. For example, if a guest declines housekeeping, the guest-management agent can alert an operations agent, which then adjusts staff schedules. In properties that lack an overnight front-desk employee, Daisy can verify a late-night reservation and provide entry instructions, while Alfred handles the arrival workflow. Shariff estimates that eliminating an overnight front-desk shift could save a California property $70,000 to $80,000 a year.

The startup reports more than one million AI-driven interactions each month across hundreds of hotels. Its client base ranges from a 21-room boutique inn to a 550-room property, and includes independent hotels as well as brands under Hilton, Wyndham, Best Western and IHG. A large hotel that uses Daisy now generates between $100,000 and $300,000 in bookings each month through the voice agent, according to Shariff. Dextr integrates with major property-management systems such as Oracle Hospitality, OPERA Cloud, StayNtouch, Cloudbeds and Hostaway.

Dextr charges a subscription fee that varies with the size of the property and the agents deployed, and adds usage-based fees for certain functions. While the company declined to disclose exact revenue or valuation, Shariff said annual recurring revenue is climbing 20 percent to 30 percent month over month after a year of pilot projects. The firm also highlights a zero-churn record and a clear return-on-investment story for its early adopters.

The fresh capital will be used to expand the engineering team that works directly with hotel operators, broaden the list of software integrations and develop additional AI agents. Dextr has grown its staff from three people a year ago to 21 today.

Krishna Mehra, an AI partner at Elevation Capital, praised the founders’ execution, noting that Dextr achieved “hundreds of contracted properties and meaningful ARR without raising a single dollar” before this round. Mehra added that the combination of early traction, zero churn and demonstrable ROI is rare in the AI-hotel space. As Dextr scales, its ability to link discrete AI agents into a coordinated operations platform could become a template for other hospitality technology firms seeking to offset labor pressures while driving incremental revenue.
